Along with that, the number of online scams has also increased sharply during the Covid epidemic. According to statistics of the Department of Information Security – Ministry of Information and Communications (TT&TT), in October 2021 alone, there were more than 1 million Vietnamese people, accounting for about 16% of Vietnamese Internet users, accessing the Internet. Phishing, malicious website. If the world has about 2 million fraudulent websites, Vietnam alone has 816 fraudulent websites impersonating banks from December 2020 to November 2021.

Leaking personal data, users of online services being scammed to appropriate property have partly caused people to lose trust and jeopardize the digital transformation program. Leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications have also repeatedly emphasized the importance of building digital trust, helping people and the whole society to trust in shifting activities from the traditional environment to cyberspace: “The most important task for those working in cyber safety and security in the current period is to strengthen and create digital trust for society when participating in activities in cyberspace; thereby promoting the development of digital government, digital economy and digital society“.

Building a safe Vietnamese cyberspace

According to analysis by a representative of the National Cyber ​​Security Monitoring Center (NCSC), the Information Security Administration: There are 4 main “keywords” for users’ digital trust when using an online service. agencies, organizations, that is: Information security, Privacy/data control; Values ​​and benefits; The willingness to take responsibility, how to respond and account in case of an attack.

Therefore, in order to strengthen and build digital trust for Vietnamese Internet users, it is necessary to have the association and companionship between three parties including: State – State agencies in different fields; Enterprises providing information security products and services; Enterprises and service providers in the digital environment.

With that view, over the past time, the Department of Information Security has coordinated with agencies, organizations and businesses to deploy many solutions to protect people and businesses, and at the same time ensure Vietnam’s cyberspace. Men are safe and healthy. Specifically, in order to contribute to raising awareness of network information security for users, in addition to regularly warning about the risks of cyber attacks, the Department of Information Security has released the “Security Handbook”. information during the Covid-19 pandemic”. This handbook guides users on the skills needed for remote work, online learning and safe entertainment, helping Internet users to keep information safe when connecting online. As of December 2021, there were over 70,000 hits to download the manual.

In 2021, the portal will also continue to be developed, providing a series of technical solutions, and at the same time providing guidance on ensuring information security for agencies, organizations and individual users when participate in the network environment. These include tools such as: Checking for malicious files, identifying ransomware, checking fraudulent websites, checking personal account information disclosure…

Officially launched by the Information Security Administration from June 2021, the Cyber ​​Trust ecosystem – another shield of information security – also aims to protect people in the online environment, creating Digital trust for products and services of agencies and organizations, promoting the safe and healthy development of Vietnam’s cyberspace. As of December 2021, there have been 2,534 websites that have been evaluated and labeled with network trust.

Affirming that ensuring people’s safety is a key task, Director of the Information Security Department Nguyen Thanh Phuc said that in the coming year, many solutions will be deployed, such as: Organizing propaganda campaigns raising awareness of information security for the entire community, chaired and coordinated by the Ministry of Information and Communications, with the direct participation of ministries, branches and localities and mobilizes the strength of large ICT enterprises; Developing a support platform to protect children in cyberspace; Continue to develop the portal to become a destination for people whenever they need or have information security problems; Expanding network credit labeling for websites, especially websites of banks, financial institutions…
