Covid-19 cases in Hanoi community increased sharply


The Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC) on the evening of December 14 recorded 1,357 Covid-19 cases in 24 hours, the highest in the 4th epidemic, the number of community infections also reached a record with 611 cases.

The Ministry of Health tonight announced 1,024 new infections in Hanoi. Thus, some cases today have not been assigned patient codes.

According to the Hanoi Department of Health, by the end of December 14, the city had 9,627 F0 being treated. Specifically, 1st floor including 4 facilities to collect and treat 3,737 cases; grassroots and home health stations with more than 3,500 cases. BILLION2nd floor and floor 3 are district general hospitals, city and central hospitals, treating more than 2,300 cases.

Regarding the number of deaths, the Ministry of Health announced today that Hanoi has one death; while on December 14 there were 6 cases. There are no statistics on the number of severe cases as of 19:00 today.

Of the infections today, there are 611 community cases, 609 in isolation areas and 137 in blockade areas. Thus, the number of community infections increased by 296 cases compared to yesterday.

Community cases are distributed in 28 districts, including: Hoang Mai 139; Dong Da 110; Hai Ba Trung 101; Thanh Tri 29; Gia Lam 26; Bac Tu Liem 23; Cau Giay 22; Dong Anh 21; American Chapter 19; Hoan Kiem 17; Nam Tu Liem 15, Thanh Xuan 15; Soc Son and Tay Ho 8; Me Linh, Thuong Tin, Ha Dong, Long Bien each 7; Ung Hoa 5; Thach That, My Duc, Phu Xuyen, Ba Vi 4 each; Hoai Duc 3; Quoc Oai 2; Dan Phuong, Ba Dinh and Son Tay are all one.

Faced with the increasing number of infections, today, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung directed to arrange more mobile medical stations in densely populated areas. Each district, town and district must determine the need to arrange mobile medical stations according to the population and epidemic level. He said that “the victory or defeat in the current fight against the epidemic lies in grassroots health”. The city does not have a plan to blockade on a large scale because “the situation is still under control”, especially when the level of vaccination against Covid-19 with two doses is already quite high.

The total number of infections in Hanoi during the 4th outbreak (since April 29) is 21,467, of which 8,223 are in the community and 13,244 in the isolation area.
