On August 8, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Health announced the connection of the Telehealth Platform to 100% of district hospitals, launching the National Technology Center for Covid-19 prevention and control.

Launched in April 2020, the Telehealth Platform has connected more than 30 central hospitals with more than 1,600 lower-level medical facilities. Up to now, there have been 1,600 dossiers, 500 consultation sessions and more than 200 training sessions held and evaluated as one of the effective solutions in supporting timely diagnosis and treatment, limiting overload in higher level hospitals.

Since August 6, the telemedicine platform is connected to 100% of district medical facilities, contributing to eradicating the limit between lines and difficult cases, including the treatment of Covid patients. -19 will be consulted by leading experts without being transferred to the upline.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh spent nearly 2 hours connecting to more than 20 bridge points, out of 700 bridge points at district health centers at the same time connected online on the Telehealth Platform.

Through this platform, doctors and nurses at district health centers such as Cao Loc (Lang Son), Thong Nhat district (Dong Nai), Duc Trong, Gia Lai General Hospital, Bu Gia Map, Hon Quang (Binh Phuoc), Chau Thanh (Tien Giang), Go Cong Dong (Tien Giang), Dung Quat (Quang Ngai)… shared about the number of patients and the treatment situation of Covid-19 patients being received. , the treatment situation as well as specific questions were sent to the experts of Cho Ray University Hospital.

Directly operating the connection at the bridge points to medical experts, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assessed: “This is a means for us to reduce mortality to the maximum extent. According to Minister Long, in the past, it took 45 days to connect 1,000 points, but this time in just 2.5 days, 328 points were connected to all districts. “This is one of the great efforts of the information and communication industry,” said the Health Minister.

The fight against Covid-19 has two more tasks: online vaccination (via electronic health book) and testing. Over the past time, the Ministry of Information and Communications has actively prepared for these two tasks and is implementing them nationwide. At this point, the Ministry of Health requires all medical facilities nationwide to use the electronic Health Book to carry out the largest Covid-19 vaccination campaign in history. Using the electronic health book, it will be implemented in the future to another step, which is to register for medical examination and treatment online. Thus there will be a single Gate for the people.

The Prime Minister also suggested that the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Health will jointly have specific regulations and guidelines step by step, each stage for clarity, starting from practice to gradually improve. At the same time, there is an early training plan for district centers.
