China spoke of easing tensions in eastern Ladakh, but remained silent on the withdrawal of troops from LAC

The Chinese military said on Thursday that due to joint efforts with India to repel troops from the Pangong Lake area, tension in East Ladakh has come down. However, it did not give any indication about the withdrawal of troops from the remaining areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Due to a series of military and diplomatic negotiations, the two countries completed the process of withdrawing troops from the north and south shores of Pangong Lake last month. Both countries did so under an agreement to withdraw troops.

At the same time, troops are yet to be removed from the remaining areas adjoining the LAC. The Indian Army is emphasizing on the process of swift withdrawal of troops from areas such as Hot Spring, Gogra and Depsang to reduce tension in the mountainous region. A spokesman for China’s Ministry of National Defense, Senior Colonel Ren Guoyokiang, said in an online press conference that currently China and India have repelled the frontline troops in the Pangong Lake area and both countries are positively commenting on the current move. Huh.

“The credit goes to the joint efforts of China and India, which has reduced tension in the border area,” he said. The Chinese military online portal, quoting Rain, said that the two sides are on the other side of the west side of the China-India border. We have agreed to maintain dialogue through military and diplomatic channels to resolve the issues.

A question was asked by a Foreign Ministry spokesman, quoting reports that China was asked to complete the process of removing troops from the remaining LAC-bound areas of the conflict, to which Rain was responding.
