Chinese soldiers are unable to tolerate the extreme cold. The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has moved a large number of unmanned ground vehicles to carry troops, weapons. More than half of these vehicles are in areas close to Ladakh. The PLA has deployed 88 Sharp Claw unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) to Tibet and 38 of them are in the western part of the province, where Indian and Chinese armies still face off. The sharp claw can be controlled wirelessly.

Unmanned vehicles due to cold and altitude

The Sharp Claw UGV manufactured by Chinese arms manufacturer NORINCO can be used for patrolling and transportation of weapons and for logistics work in difficult terrain. It can also be armed with weapons. Robotized Mule-200 is deployed in Tibet. It can navigate difficult terrain and can carry around 200 kg of ammunition, supplies and even weapons at a time. Apart from this, China has also sent 70 VP-22 armored military vehicles near the border to support unmanned vehicles.
