Caesar ceremony: last chance for survival


STORY – After two editions mired in various controversies, the annual meeting of French cinema, on February 25, plays its all out. In view of recent announcements, nothing is won.

Here are at least two who are happy to be nominated for the César for best actor. On Twitter, Gilles Lellouche, in the running for BAC north drew first, talking about him in the third person like Alain Delon: “Gilles Lellouche is exceptional, he will crush Pierre Niney, who is good, but not great.” Response from his rival on the track for the thriller Black Box : “But, hahaha, you created a Twitter account, well done at your age.” And to add: “I’ll eat you, you’ll sit nice and warm and you’ll tell me how I look on stage.” A clever way to create buzz.

On March 9, the duo will appear in Goliath, an environmental thriller where Gilles Lellouche plays a crumpled lawyer opposite a cynical lobbyist Pierre Niney. A way also to amuse the gallery as the Césars no longer interest many people, neither the middle of the seventh art, nor regulars in dark rooms, nor television viewers. In view of the latest announcements, things are off to a bad start again.
