Boris Johnson will remain the Prime Minister of Britain, Johnson passed the test of no-confidence motion

Boris Johnson Confidence Vote Results: Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson, embroiled in controversy in the ‘Partygate’ case, has won the No Confidence Motion brought against him. He got 211 votes against the opposition’s 148 votes. This no-confidence motion was brought by MPs from Johnson’s Conservative Party. Rebel lawmakers needed 180 votes to remove Johnson as party leader and prime minister.

Significantly, at a birthday party held in Downing Street (Prime Minister’s residence) in June 2020, more than 40 MPs demanded Johnson’s resignation over allegations of violation of the rules related to the Kovid-19 lockdown. The matter has been in the news for a long time and many questions have also been raised about the failures of the investigation led by top civil servant Sue Grey.

The report, released after the Scotland Yard investigation, said that during the 2020-2021 lockdown to control the spread of the corona virus, parties within government offices violated rules.

Johnson and his wife, Carrie, were also fined in June 2020 for holding a birthday party in Downing Street’s cabinet room in violation of lockdown rules.

Under current Conservative Party rules, Johnson will no longer face another such No Confidence Motion for at least 12 months after this victory.
