Boris Johnson India Visit: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson met PM Modi in the national capital Delhi on Friday. During this, bilateral talks were held between the two leaders on many issues including defense and trade. After this conversation, Boris Johnson, while addressing the media, described PM Modi as his special friend and also said that, I felt like Sachin Tendulkar and Amitabh Bachchan.

Boris Johnson told the media, “My friend Narendra, my special friend! I had a special and wonderful reception in Gujarat and now in Delhi. I felt like Sachin Tendulkar and I also felt like my face blossomed like Amitabh Bachchan is.” Boris Johnson also said during this that the partnership between India and Britain is one of the defining friendships of our times. The UK is creating an India-specific open general export license to reduce bureaucracy and reduce delivery times for defense procurement.

The British PM said that both countries have a common interest in keeping the Indo-Pacific region free, open and rules-based. Both countries have agreed to deal with air, space and maritime threats. We will take steps for sustainable, domestic energy. This visit has deepened the ties between the two countries.

PM Modi said – work is being done for FTA

PM Modi also raised the issue of Ukraine war during his conversation with the Prime Minister of Britain. During the joint statement, PM Modi said that we stressed on dialogue and diplomacy for immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and resolution of the problem. We also reiterated the importance of respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all countries.
