The prevention of spam calls is centralized by telecommunications businesses according to a closed process with 4 steps: Identifying subscribers who suspect of spreading spam calls; Verify if it was a spam call or not; Prevent; Customer care, complaint handling.
Over the past time, this has been done relatively well by the network operators, with satisfactory results. From July 2020 up to now, the after-way operators have dialed more than 34,700 subscribers; Only in September 2020, the operators blocked 16,288 subscribers.
Explaining the situation of still spam calls, the representative of the Telecommunications Department said that the main reason was that the coordination of people was not good.
In the process of authenticating spam calls, the network operator will text or call people to ask if it is a spam call or not. But the percentage of people coordinating to authenticate is low, only 5-7%, meaning that when the network operator sends about 100 verification messages, only 5-7 people answer.
“To solve the problem, the Telecommunications Department and businesses are increasing propaganda so that the proportion of people coordinating in authenticating spam calls is higher. Besides, technically, we also run the sharing network operators to deploy to prevent inter-network spam calls expected from next week ”, the representative of the Telecommunications Department shared.

Regarding the results of preventing fake calls, according to the Telecommunications Department, from July up to now, the operators have blocked over 9 million fake calls. Particularly in September 2020, 4 operators prevented 3.3 million fake calls.
A good signal, according to the representative of the Telecommunications Department, thanks to the active operators sending propaganda messages every month, reminding subscribers to be alert to fake calls, the proportion of people answering phone numbers.
