Binh Duong found the first positive case

The Center for Disease Control in Binh Duong province confirmed the 55-year-old woman attending a wedding in Hai Duong for a nCoV positive test.

Doctor Nguyen Thanh Danh, Director of the Center for Disease Control Binh Duong, on the afternoon of January 31, said this person, along with another woman, in Ca Na hamlet, An Binh commune, Phu Giao district, attended a wedding in town. Kinh Mon commune, Hai Duong on January 7, contacted her nephew – later it was recorded as “patient 1644”.

On January 18, the two women came from Hai Duong to Hai Phong, flew to Ho Chi Minh City and then took the Thanh Cong bus (with 9 people) to Phu Giao district, Binh Duong. On the way back, the bus station stopped at Bo La hamlet, Phuoc Hoa commune, Phu Giao district.

On January 19, this woman had a headache. Two days later, grandma tired, sore throat. At noon, January 26, she infused water at a private pharmacy in An Binh commune. The next morning, she went to the pharmacy in Phuoc Vinh town to buy medicine and stopped at Phuoc Vinh market to buy vegetables.

Two days ago, after hearing the translation in Hai Duong, she went to the Phu Giao Medical Center to give a medical report. At noon of the same day, she was sampled by the rapid response team to test, the result was positive on January 31st. The woman was married to her wedding, her test result was negative.

According to the Department of Health of Binh Duong, this is the first positive case in this province related to the outbreak from Hai Duong. Currently, this case has not been recorded by the Ministry of Health, so it is considered a suspected case. About 60 people who came into contact with the woman have been quarantined.

The People’s Committee of Phu Giao district blocked Ca Na hamlet with 388 households, more than 15,000 people. The whole commune implemented social distance under Directive 16. The Provincial People’s Committee requested to stop many unnecessary activities, encourage workers to stay for Tet. More than 400,000 students across the province have been absent from school since February 1.

Over the past four days, 221 cases of community infection have been recorded by the Ministry of Health, with two main epidemic clusters being Chi Linh City, Hai Duong, and Van Don Airport, Quang Ninh. The cases are currently spreading in 8 provinces, including 179 cases from Hai Duong, 22 cases in Quang Ninh, 9 cases in Hanoi, 4 cases of Gia Lai, 3 cases of Bac Ninh, 2 cases of Hoa Binh, one case in Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong.
