Another 8,656 cases of Covid-19

Four provinces including Hai Phong, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau and Tuyen Quang have not recorded new cases for 14 days.

Regarding testing, In the past 24 hours, 210,030 tests were performed for 676,379 turns of people. The number of tests from April 27 to now has done 8,676,847 samples for 25,118,695 turns of people.

Regarding vaccinations, the total number of doses of vaccine injected was 15,518,869, of which 1 dose was 14,032,444 doses, and the second dose was 1,486,425 doses.

The Ministry of Health today issued a decision to grant 30,000 vials of remdesivir to treat Covid-19 to many medical facilities in the southern provinces that are treating severe Covid-19 patients. There are 17 hospitals (Covid-19 Intensive Care Centers) together with Can Tho Central Hospital and Health Departments of provinces and cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Tien Giang, Dong Nai, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Long An, Dong Thap, Tay Ninh and Can Tho were given remdesivir in this batch. This is the second time that remdesivir has been issued by the Ministry of Health to serve the needs of medical facilities to treat Covid-19 patients. Previously, on August 8, the first batch of 10,000 vials of remdesivir was put into treatment for Covid-19 patients in Ho Chi Minh City.

On August 18, the multi-storey Covid-19 field hospital in Tan Binh, Ho Chi Minh City, operated by Thong Nhat Hospital (central hospital under the Ministry of Health), operated with a scale of 1,000 beds. . This is the first field hospital model in Ho Chi Minh City to treat all 3 levels of Covid-19 disease at the same time (mild, moderate and severe disease).

To help F0s isolated at home to monitor their health while waiting for the Rapid Response Team to support hospitalization when showing severe symptoms, Ho Chi Minh City set up SpO2 measurement stations and oxygenated oxygen in neighborhoods and residential groups.

From today to August 23, Can Tho City Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital starts injecting Covid-19 vaccine for pregnant women (gestational age from over 13 weeks), with an expected number of 1,000 doses.

From August 18, Quang Nam increased the concentrated isolation period from 7 to 14 days for people returning from provinces and cities that are implementing social distancing according to Directive 16.
