Another 8,652 cases of Covid-19


Thus, in the past 24 hours, the number of infections in Ho Chi Minh City decreased by 1,175 cases compared to yesterday, but the total number of cases has exceeded 150,000. Binh Duong increased 164 cases, Long An increased 85 cases, Dong Nai increased 42 cases, Khanh Hoa increased 96 cases.

8,644 cases were recorded in: Ho Chi Minh City 3,341, Binh Duong 2,522, Long An 599, Dong Nai 588, Khanh Hoa 262, Dong Thap 158, Tien Giang 152, Vinh Long 131, Da Nang 96, An Giang 87, Can Tho 86, Soc Trang 75, Tra Vinh 71, Phu Yen 62, Thua Thien Hue 60, Tay Ninh 52, Hanoi 50, Binh Thuan 33, Kien Giang 32, Ninh Thuan 27, Gia Lai 25, Nghe An 24, Ha Tinh 17, the Dak Lak, Quang Nam and Bac Ninh provinces have 11 cases each, Lam Dong 8, Thanh Hoa, Nam Dinh, Hau Giang and Binh Phuoc provinces each 6, Lang Son, Ca Mau and Quang Ngai provinces each, 4, Ninh Binh and Binh Dinh 3 each, Lao Cai, Quang Binh, Son La and Bac Lieu provinces 2 each, Ha Nam, Hai Duong and Thai Nguyen each. Of which, 2,422 are community cases.

The number of new cases brings the total number of infections in Ho Chi Minh City 152,627, Binh Duong 46,501, Long An 14,998, Dong Nai 14,204, Dong Thap 5,168, Khanh Hoa 4,508, Tien Giang 4,448, Tay Ninh 3,525, Can Tho 2,749, Hanoi 2,484, Phu Yen 2,144, Da Nang 2,125, Bac Ninh 1,757, Vinh Long 1,705, Binh Thuan 1,480, Tra Vinh 865, An Giang 840, Ninh Thuan 634, Soc Trang 611, Dak Lak 521, Nghe An 520, Kien Giang 512, Quang Ngai 498 , Binh Dinh 463, Gia Lai 373, Hau Giang 351, Thua Thien Hue 333, Binh Phuoc 308, Ha Tinh 306, Quang Nam 249, Lam Dong 197, Hai Duong 163, Lang Son 149, Thanh Hoa 125, Son La 87, Lao Cai 79, Bac Lieu 78, Ha Nam 69, Quang Binh 65, Ca Mau 62, Ninh Binh 57, Nam Dinh 33, Thai Nguyen 14.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has recorded 283,696 infections, ranking 77th out of 222 countries and territories. Calculating the rate of infections per 1 million people, Vietnam ranks 171st (average of 2,886 cases per 1 million people).

The total number of community infections from April 27 to now is 279,630, recorded in 62 provinces. In which, 104,203 people have been declared cured.

Hai Phong, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Tuyen Quang have not recorded new cases for 14 days.

Bac Kan and Quang Ninh have not recorded any new cases for 30 days.

Six provinces and cities have no secondary infections in the area in the past 14 days: Kon Tum, Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Thai Binh, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen.

Five provinces and cities with high number of infections are Ho Chi Minh City 152,827, Binh Duong 46,501, Long An 14,998, Dong Nai 14,204, Bac Giang 5,795.

Regarding treatment, 4,473 people were announced to be cured on August 16, bringing the total number of cured cases to 106,977. Number of critically ill patients being treated in ICU: 590. Number of critically ill patients receiving ECMO: 22.

On August 16, announced 368 deaths in: Ho Chi Minh City 315, Binh Duong 29, Long An 8, Tien Giang 4, Hanoi 2, Binh Dinh, Binh Thuan, Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Dong Thap provinces, Hung Yen, Khanh Hoa, Soc Trang, Tay Ninh and Thua Thien Hue have one shift each.

The total number of deaths in Vietnam as of August 16 is 6,141, a rate of 2.2% of the total number of cases, equivalent to the death rate from Covid-19 in the world.

About the test, in the last 24 hours 147,657 samples were taken for 610,463 people. The number of tests from April 27 to now has done 8,299,083 samples for 23,798,054 turns of people.

About vaccinations, on August 15, another 508,244 doses of vaccine were injected. Thus, the total number of doses injected is 14,666,708, of which the 1st dose is 13,287,434 doses, the 2nd dose is 1,379,274 doses.

Today, Minister Nguyen Thanh Long and the delegation went to Ho Chi Minh City to coordinate in epidemic prevention work. Accompanying the Minister to Ho Chi Minh City were more than 110 doctors, nurses, technicians from the Central Eye Hospital and the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. The medical team will support the Covid-19 Resuscitation Hospitals, which are in charge of Cho Ray and Bach Mai hospitals.
