If compared with the days of announcing the compensation for the number of infections in the localities that have been tested before, the number of infections today is the third highest since the beginning of the epidemic. The day with the highest number of infections was November 23 with 39,126 cases (making up 28,000 cases in Binh Duong), the second day with the second highest number of infections was August 27 with 17,409 cases (making up for 4,508 cases in Binh Duong).
In the past 24 hours, 6,626 cases were detected in isolation or blockade areas (up 650 cases), 9,478 community cases (increased 635 cases). The number of infections in Binh Phuoc skyrocketed, surpassing 1,000 cases and only after Ho Chi Minh City. This is the first time Binh Phuoc has recorded such a high number of infections in a day.

Today recorded 209 deaths in: Ho Chi Minh City 67, Dong Nai 17, An Giang, Binh Duong, Can Tho all 13, Tay Ninh 12, Kien Giang 11, Dong Thap and Tien Giang 10, Long An 8, Soc Trang and Binh Thuan 7, Ben Tre 7, Ca Mau and Tra Vinh 4, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa all 2, Nghe An and Ba Ria – Vung Tau one.
The average number of deaths recorded in the past 7 days is 221 cases.
The total number of deaths in Vietnam so far is 27,611, accounting for 2% of the total number of infections.
In the fourth epidemic, the number of new infections recorded in the country was 1,393,034 cases, of which 1,050,608 cases were announced to be cured.
Regarding treatment, the number of cured cases in a day was 1,084 cases, the total number of cured cases increased to 1,053,425 cases. The number of critically ill patients being treated is 7,558 cases, of which 5,059 cases of oxygen through a mask, 1,319 cases of HFNC high-flow oxygen, 270 cases of non-invasive mechanical ventilation, 893 cases of invasive ventilation and 17 cases of ECMO.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has recorded 1,398,413 infections, ranking 32/223 countries and territories. The rate of infections per million people, Vietnam ranks 148th (average 14,183 cases per million people) – an increase of one order.
Two provinces and cities have no secondary infections in the area in the past 14 days: Bac Kan, Lai Chau.
Localities with high cumulative infections during this outbreak: Ho Chi Minh City 486,043 cases, Binh Duong 286,877, Dong Nai 91,880, Long An 39,165, Tay Ninh 37,776 cases.
Regarding testing, in the past 24 hours, 288,246 tests were performed for 460,141 turns of people. The number of tests from April 27 to now has done 27.7 million samples for 71.1 million people.
Regarding vaccination, on December 10, 720,109 doses of vaccine were injected. Thus, the total number of doses injected was 131.8 million doses, of which the first dose was 74.7 million doses, and the second injection was 57.1 million doses.
The Ministry of Health requested localities to urgently speed up the vaccination schedule for people of the specified age; ensure safe vaccination according to regulations and guidelines, giving priority to vaccination for people aged 50 years and over, people with underlying diseases.
