In the past 24 hours, the number of infections nationwide increased by 208 compared to yesterday, including 4,913 cases detected in isolation or blockade areas (up 443 cases), 10,187 community cases (down 235 cases). The average number of new infections in the country recorded in the past 7 days is 15,213 cases/day.
Up to now, Vietnam has recorded 166 Omicron infections in: Ho Chi Minh City 92, Quang Nam 27, Hanoi 14, Khanh Hoa 11, Da Nang 8, Kien Giang 4, Quang Ninh and Thanh Hoa 2, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Long An, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Lam Dong have one shift each.
Today, 115 deaths were recorded in: Hanoi 27, Kien Giang (11 cases in 2 days), Can Tho 8, Tien Giang 7, Dong Thap 6, Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria – Vung Tau 5, Hai Phong, An Giang, Soc Trang, Bac Ninh all 4, Khanh Hoa and Da Nang 3, Nam Dinh, Binh Thuan, Long An, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Lao Cai all 2, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Hai Duong, Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Lam Dong, Binh Phuoc, Vinh Long, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau each place.
The average number of deaths recorded in the past 7 days is 136 cases. The total number of deaths in Vietnam so far is 37,547 cases, accounting for 1.7% of the total number of infections.
In the fourth wave, the number of domestic infections was 2,226,343 cases, of which 1,959,780 cases were announced to be cured.
The number of patients recovered in a day was 12,353 cases. The total number of cured cases reached 1,962,597 cases. The number of seriously ill patients being treated is 3,869 cases, of which 2,650 cases of oxygen through a mask, 551 cases of HFNC high-flow oxygen, 144 cases of non-invasive mechanical ventilation, 505 cases of invasive mechanical ventilation and 19 cases of ECMO.
Thus, after more than two months, the number of severe cases per day is always above 4,000, today for the first time the number of severe cases is more than 3,800.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had 2,233,287 infections, ranking 31 out of 225 countries and territories. Calculating the rate of infections per million people, Vietnam ranks 144th (on average, there are 22,628 infections per million people).

The number of tests from April 27, 2021 to now is 32.1 million samples, equivalent to 77.1 million turns of people, an increase of 55,881 samples compared to the previous day.
On January 28, 506,532 doses of vaccine were injected. Thus, the total number of doses administered was 180.8 million doses, of which the first injection was 79 million doses, the second injection was 74 million doses, and the third dose (additional/reinforced injection and 3 basic doses) ) is 27.7 million doses.
