Another 10,654 cases of Covid-19

Thus, today marks the day of recording the highest number of domestic infections since the beginning of the epidemic, with 10,639 cases. The day with the second highest number of infections is August 14 (9,710), the day with the third highest number of infections is August 8 (9,684).

In the past 24 hours, the number of infections in Ho Chi Minh City increased 694 cases, Binh Duong increased 742 cases, Dong Nai increased 214 cases, Long An increased 117 cases, Tien Giang increased 196 cases.

Specifically, 10,639 cases were recorded in: Ho Chi Minh City 4,425 cases, Binh Duong 3,255, Dong Nai 657, Long An 545, Tien Giang 478, Dong Thap 185, Da Nang 164, Khanh Hoa 151, Can Tho 134, Tay Ninh 102. An Giang 70, Vinh Long 60, Hanoi 53, Tra Vinh 51, Nghe An 45, Phu Yen 44, Binh Thuan 43, Son La 26, Quang Nam 24 and Binh Dinh 24 each, Kien Giang 17, Quang Ngai 16 , Quang Tri 9, Binh Phuoc 8, Bac Giang, Ninh Thuan and Ha Tinh provinces each 7, Hau Giang and Thanh Hoa all 6, Bac Ninh, Nam Dinh and Quang Binh 4 each, Hai Duong, Ninh Binh and Bac Lieu has 2 cases each, Thai Binh and Lang Son have 1 case each.

The number of new cases brings the total number of infections in Ho Chi Minh City to 164,342, Binh Duong 55,601, Long An 16,552, Dong Nai 15,602, Bac Giang 5,802, Tien Giang 5,619, Dong Thap 5,554, Khanh Hoa 4,884, Tay Ninh 3,819, Can Tho 3,146, Hanoi 2,644, Da Nang 2,547, Phu Yen 2,324, Vinh Long 1,902, Bac Ninh 1,788, Binh Thuan 1,607, An Giang 1,048, Tra Vinh 995, Kien Giang 729, Ninh Thuan 651, Nghe An 640, Quang Ngai 528, Binh Dinh 514, Hau Giang 373, Ha Tinh 340, Quang Nam 337, Binh Phuoc 319, Hai Duong 165, Lang Son 154, Thanh Hoa 149, Son La 115, Bac Lieu 84, Quang Binh 77, Thai Binh 70, Quang Tri 68, Ninh Binh 60, Nam Dinh 37.

The total number of community infections from April 27 to now is 308,560, recorded in 62 provinces. 5,000 people were announced to be cured on August 19, bringing the total number of cured cases to 120,059. Number of critically ill patients being treated in ICU: 660. Number of critically ill patients receiving ECMO: 27.

On August 19, 380 deaths were recorded in: Ho Chi Minh City 307 cases, Binh Duong 45, Long An 17, Can Tho 3, Ben Tre, Binh Thuan, Tien Giang and Vinh Long provinces each.

The total number of deaths from Covid-19 in Vietnam as of August 19 is 7,150, accounting for 2.3% of the total number of cases and equivalent to the death rate from Covid-19 in the world.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has recorded 312,611 infections, ranking 72 out of 222 countries and territories. Calculating the rate of infections per 1 million people, Vietnam ranks 169th (with an average of 3,180 infections for every 1 million people).

Five provinces including Hai Phong, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai have not recorded new cases for 14 days.

Bac Kan and Quang Ninh have not recorded new cases for 30 days.

4 provinces and cities have no secondary infections in the area in the past 14 days: Kon Tum, Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Thai Binh.

Five provinces and cities with high number of cases are Ho Chi Minh City 164,542 cases, Binh Duong 55,601, Long An 16,552, Dong Nai 15,602, Bac Giang 5,802.

Regarding testing, In the past 24 hours, 201,443 tests were performed for 643,418 turns of people. The number of tests from April 27 to now has done 8,878,290 samples for 25,762,113 turns of people.

Regarding vaccinations, The total number of doses of vaccine injected was 15,922,537, of which the 1 dose was 14,359,868 people, and the second dose was 1,562,669 people.

Today, the Minister of Health chaired an online meeting to discuss solutions to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic with 4 provinces and cities: Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of Long An, Dong Nai and Binh Duong. Accordingly, setting up a mobile medical station model in Ho Chi Minh City, which can be deployed in any location (gymnasium, regional polyclinic, cultural house, People’s Committee of communes, wards, etc.) or spacious houses far from surrounding houses).

Ho Chi Minh City develops a plan for the operation of a mobile medical station with 389 mobile medical stations to manage 50-100 cases of F0/station to ensure that people have access to medical services when needed and management, treatment and referral services in the community.

Ho Chi Minh City issued guidelines on health management of people infected with nCoV isolated at home; deploying a network of companion doctors to help advise, educate and provide health care for people with suspected and infected nCoV in isolation at home; established the initial emergency Covid-19 rapid response team.

From August 19, Da Nang city implemented testing for people entering the city right at the checkpoint. This test is aimed at timely detection of cases and prevention of epidemics from outside.

Long An province develops a plan to screen people with Covid-19 for all people of 15 districts, towns and cities in the province from August 20 to 31. For localities in the “red zone, orange zone, yellow zone” of Duc Hoa, Ben Luc, Can Giuoc, Can Duoc and Tan An city, Long An performed rapid antigen test, then single PCR test. for positive samples; pooled PCR test for the negative rapid test cases.
