For his 14e edition, the Francophone Film Festival offers a radiant showcase of current production.

It’s a small film festival that has everything a big one. Last year, the exceptional cancellation of the Cannes Film Festival for pandemic reasons fully benefited the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival. In a jiffy, this nice event intended to be a showcase of French-language film production had become the first back-to-school festival, opening theaters even before the Deauville American Film Festival or the Venice Mostra. Nearly 47,000 spectators, Angoumoisins or professionals, had thronged in all the cinemas of the city.

For the 14e edition, we could have imagined that the soufflé falls. The organizers themselves feared a certain reluctance, given the implementation of the health pass and the still present Covid.
