Northern VUS English Center Co., Ltd. was sanctioned for performing the act of “making phone calls to advertise services to users without the user’s consent”.

Specifically, this business has used the phone number 02473078979 to call advertising without the consent of the user. According to the Inspector of the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications, this behavior violated the provisions of Clause 2, Article 11, Decree 91/2020 / ND-CP dated August 14, 2020 of the Government on combating spam and email messages. and junk call.

With this behavior, Northern VUS English Center Co., Ltd. will be handled for administrative violations with the amount of VND 7.5 million. Within 10 working days from November 5, the Northern VUS English Center Co., Ltd. will have to comply with this sanctioning decision by paying the fine at the State Treasury of Hanoi.

At the end of October, City Department of Information and Communication Hanoi also decided to sanction an individual and a company for sending text messages to advertise services when the recipient did not agree with a total fine of more than 11 million VND.

According to Decree 91/2020, text messages, calls, promotional emails are text messages, calls and emails to introduce products, goods and services to the public. According to Article 32 of this Decree, organizations and individuals that make advertising phone calls when users explicitly refuse or disagree will be handled with a fine of 5-10 million VND.

This is also a penalty for sending advertising registration messages when the user has refused or did not respond to receiving the advertising registration message.

Advertisers are not allowed to make more than 1 call to 1 phone number within 24 hours. This unit is also not allowed to call advertising outside the period from 8:00 to 17:00 without agreement with the user. Those who violate the above regulations will have to pay a fine of between 20-30 million VND.

The Ministry of Information and Communications has recently officially operated the No Advertisement List (DoNotCall). This is a set of registered phone numbers that do not accept any advertising calls or text messages.

Advertisers will be fined from 80-100 million VND if they send text messages or call ads to phone numbers on the List without Ads.
