An additional 9,580 cases of Covid-19

Thus, in the past 24 hours, the number of infections recorded in the country decreased by 136 cases. Of which, 7,104 cases were detected in isolation or blockade areas (increased 904 cases), 2,470 cases are under epidemiological investigation (down 1,040 cases).

After 7 days of less than 4,000 cases in Ho Chi Minh City, today is the second consecutive day that over 4,000 cases have been recorded, up 4,516, an increase of 285 cases compared to yesterday. Binh Duong recorded 2,358 cases, an increase of 329. Dong Nai recorded 546 cases, down 477 cases.

Today is the fourth highest number of domestic cases recorded since the beginning of the epidemic with 9,574 cases. The day with the highest number of infections was August 14 (9,710 cases), the day with the second highest number of infections was August 8 (9,684), the third day with the third highest number of infections was August 12 (9,653).

9,574 cases were recorded in: Ho Chi Minh City 4,516 cases, Binh Duong 2,358, Dong Nai 546, Long An 514, Dong Thap 271, Tien Giang 209, Can Tho 170, Khanh Hoa 166, Tay Ninh 159, Da Nang 83, Soc Trang 82 , Ben Tre 60, Hanoi 39, Binh Thuan 39, Quang Ngai 34, An Giang 34, Nghe An 27, Phu Yen 27, Quang Nam 26, Ninh Thuan and Binh Dinh 22 each, Bac Ninh 21, Kien Giang 19 , Lao Cai 18, Ba Ria – Vung Tau 16, Ha Tinh 14, Dak Nong 13, Lam Dong 11, Hau Giang 10, provinces of Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri and Gia Lai each with 8 cases, Ca Mau 6, Hai Duong 5, Binh Phuoc 4, Quang Binh, Thanh Hoa and Thai Binh provinces 2 each, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen and Bac Giang one each.

The number of new cases brings the total number of infections in Ho Chi Minh City 149,286, Binh Duong 43,979, Long An 14,399, Dong Nai 13,616, Bac Giang 5,743, Dong Thap 5,010, Tien Giang 4,296, Khanh Hoa 4,246, Tay Ninh 3,473, Can Tho 2,663, Ms. Ria – Vung Tau 2,587, Hanoi 2,434, Phu Yen 2,082, Da Nang 2,029, Bac Ninh 1,746, Binh Thuan 1,447, Ben Tre 1,334, An Giang 753, Ninh Thuan 607, Soc Trang 536, Nghe An 496, Quang Ngai 494, Kien Giang 480, Binh Dinh 460, Gia Lai 348, Hau Giang 345, Binh Phuoc 302, Ha Tinh 289, Hung Yen 273, Thua Thien Hue 273, Quang Nam 238, Dak Nong 193, Lam Dong 189, Hai Duong 162, Thanh Hoa 119, Lao Cai 77, Thai Binh 67, Quang Binh 63, Ca Mau 58, Ninh Binh 54, Quang Tri 42.

The total number of community infections from April 27 to now is 270,986, recorded in 62 provinces. Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has recorded 275,044 infections, ranking 78th out of 222 countries and territories. Calculating the rate of infections per 1 million people, Vietnam ranks 172nd (average of 2,798 infections per 1 million people).

Five provinces including Hai Phong, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang have not recorded new cases for 14 days.

Bac Kan and Quang Ninh have not recorded new cases for 30 days.

Seven provinces and cities have no secondary infections in the area in the past 14 days: Lao Cai, Kon Tum, Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Thai Binh, Bac Giang and Hai Phong.

Regarding treatment, 5,519 people were declared cured on August 15, bringing the total number of cured cases to 102,504. Number of critically ill patients being treated in ICU: 589. Number of critically ill patients receiving ECMO: 18.

On August 15, announced 336 deaths in: Ho Chi Minh City 282 cases, Binh Duong 20, Long An 9, Tien Giang 6, Dong Nai 5, Ba Ria – Vung Tau 3, Dong Thap, Soc Trang and Tra provinces. Vinh each place 2, the provinces of Can Tho, Ben Tre, Binh Phuoc, Khanh Hoa, Quang Nam one each.

The total number of deaths as of August 15 is 5,774, ranking 66th out of 222 countries and territories. Calculating the mortality rate per 1 million people, Vietnam ranks 158th (on average, 1 million people have 59 deaths from Covid-19).

About the test, in the past 24 hours, 157,983 tests were performed for 617,513 turns of people. The number of tests from April 27 to now has done 8,151,426 samples for 23,187,591 turns of people.

About vaccinations, on August 14, an additional 612,974 doses of vaccine were injected. Thus, the total number of doses injected is 14,434,017, of which 1st injection is 13,078,340 doses, 2nd injection is 1,355,677 doses.

Binh Duong province piloted home medical monitoring for asymptomatic Covid-19 infected people. On August 15, Ngo Quyen field hospital in Dau Tieng district, Binh Duong, with a scale of 500 beds, was put into operation to collect and treat Covid-19 patients.

The Intensive Care Center for Covid-19 patients under Thai Nguyen Central Hospital in Long An officially went into operation.
