On the afternoon of October 30, the Ministry of Information and Communications held the launch of the comprehensive artificial intelligence platform (FPT.AI). This is one of a series of events to introduce digital platforms Make in Vietnam to implement the national program of digital transformation.

FPT.AI is the platform to provide products to help automate repetitive tasks, improve the efficiency of business operations and customer care. After 3 years of launch, the platform has deployed its services to hundreds of customers who are domestic and foreign enterprises.

This ecosystem includes a variety of products and services such as Automatic Conversation Platform – Chatbot (FPT.AI Conversation), PBX virtual assistant (FPT.AI Virtual Agent for Call Center), Extract solution online customer identification and image information (FPT.aI Vision and FPT.AI eKYC), Automatic Synthesis and Voice Recognition Solution (FPT.AI Speech).

According to FPT’s representative, the application of chatbot in customer care process at FPT Shop’s retail system of this group has brought into full play. This system has helped answer questions for more than 160,000 users, reducing the workload by 60% and increasing the online sales by 20%.

The above figures are a clear evidence of the effectiveness of the application of AI technology to transform the number of traditional working methods.

Vietnam currently ranks 21 in the world in the AI ​​field

FPT.AI is the second AI platform launched by the Ministry of Information and Communications. Before that, the Ministry of Information and Communications also introduced to the community Viettel AI Open Platform.

However, when comparing the level of investment in AI to the total population, the index in the US is 155 USD / person, in Singapore it is 68 USD / person, while in Southeast Asian countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, this index is just under 1 USD.

Explaining the above difference, Mr. Do Cong Anh said that these data may have a certain lag due to the survey conducted from previous years. Besides, in Vietnam, investment data for AI are sometimes not published by investors.

According to an expert of the Department of Information Technology, although the level of investment is not really large, Vietnam’s position in AI has increased very rapidly. Along with the investment in the development of AI technology by large corporations such as FPT, Viettel, VNPT, and Vingroup, many excellent Vietnamese AI experts abroad have returned home.

From this fact, Mr. Cong Anh expects AI technology to bring many values ​​to the digital economy. “According to a forecasts, AI can contribute 12% to the GDP of Vietnam and 18% for Singapore in the coming time”, an expert of the Department of Computerization said.

The Ministry of Information and Communications is currently encouraging businesses to prioritize the development of eight areas in the National Digital Transformation program, namely health, education, banking, finance, agriculture, transportation, energy, environmental resources. field and industrial production.

Mr. Cong Anh hopes that large corporations like FPT will take the role of leading digital technology businesses to create a community and an AI ecosystem in Vietnam. In addition, businesses should also coordinate with universities to invest in research and training.

In the Industry 4.0, data is considered a valuable resource like oil. If “crude oil” is exploited, it will become a source of fuel for industries. The task of technology businesses is to keep this data resource and refine it in Vietnam.

Therefore, Mr. Cong Anh suggested businesses should apply AI technology to create “bots” to visit, thereby assessing people’s satisfaction when using online public services. .
