While Bpifrance has just begun its tenth year of existence, the health crisis has given it a new dimension. For two years, the establishment controlled by the State and Caisse des Dépôts has been on all fronts: first in support of companies to help them get through the crisis, and now in recovery to help them take advantage of the growth.

Evidenced by the activity figures published this Thursday morning. In 2021, Bpifrance injected some 50 billion euros into the economy through its various guarantee and credit products, but also investments and export insurance. “The activity remained particularly sustained last year, with new levels crossed”, confides Nicolas Dufourcq, the general manager, to “Echos”. In two years, nearly 100 billion euros have been injected into the French economy, something never seen before.
