French President Hit Egg: A man threw an egg at French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday while he was visiting a restaurant and trade fair in the southeastern city of Lyon. The egg hit his shoulder, but without breaking it jumped down and fell. According to the news agency AFP, the attacker was soon brought under control and removed from the room.
President Macron said he would try to talk to the attacker later. Macron said during the International Catering, Hotel and Food Trade Fair (SIRHA) – If he has anything to tell me, then let him come. He said that I will go to meet him later.

Eggs are normal for angry protesters in French politics, and Emmanuel Macron is no exception. When he was a presidential candidate in 2017, during his National Agriculture tour in Paris, an egg was thrown at him by a mob, which exploded on his head.
Recently, a man slapped his face when he was shaking hands with his well-wishers in the southern city of Vallance in June. The 28-year-old man, who told a court he sympathized with the 2018 and 2019 anti-government “Yellow West” protests, was sentenced to four months in prison.
President Macron’s security system is expected to be on high alert in the coming months, as he multiplies his public appearance ahead of the widely expected re-election campaign. However, so far he has not officially announced his candidacy for a five-year term to vote for next April.
